PROSTEP subsidiary BHC Consulting expands its range of PLM and ALM servicesBy Julian Weyer PROSTEP subsidiary BHC is expanding the range of product and application lifecycle management (PLM/ALM) services it offers. In the future, we not only want to provide greater support to companies from the automotive industry but also to SMEs that manufacture smart, mechatronic products when it comes to consolidating their software and product development processes. The key to this is expanding our partnerships with leading ALM vendors. 
BHC GmbH is a medium-sized company that specializes in PLM and ALM consulting for complex mechatronic products. As a wholly owned PROSTEP subsidiary, our aim is to provide our customers with comprehensive advice and support when optimizing their development and value creation processes – from requirements analysis to process and method design through to the implementation of and support for the tool chains required to do this. We help them shape their digital transformation, making them more competitive and enhancing their innovative capability. Manufacturers of smart, mechatronic products are facing numerous challenges. The integration of hardware and software in a product requires seamless collaboration between all the engineering departments involved. Short innovation cycles and dynamic market development demand new process models – moving away from the waterfall approach to development in the direction of agile interdisciplinary collaboration. The complexity of products and development processes is increasing as functional integration becomes more challenging and customers require a wide range of different product variants. At the same time, companies are obliged to comply with quality and reliability standards and provide evidence that these standards are being met. Companies therefore need comprehensive application lifecycle management (ALM) that dovetails seamlessly with their PLM context. BHC sees ALM as more than just a tool: It is the application of appropriate methods in optimally coordinated processes with the support of suitable tools. We are constantly enhancing and expanding the range of services we offer to ensure that live up to our aim to of being best-in-class. We are not only ramping up our sales activities but also taking our collaboration with the leading ALM vendors PTC, Siemens and Jama Software to a new level. This provides us with a deep understanding of the leading ALM tools and makes it easier to integrate them in our customers' IT landscape.
