It is a well-known fact that PROSTEP's business model is based on three pillars that complement each other perfectly: (strategy) consulting, the development and sale of proprietary software solutions for integration, migration, data exchange and end-to-end digitalization, and the development of custom software. Thanks to this combination of different capabilities, we have achieved a fairly unique position on the German-speaking PLM market and are greatly appreciated by our customers. However, these three pillars are not yet equally strong. That is why we have set ourself the goal of systematically expanding our consulting services over the next few business years in terms of both content and geography.
An Interview with Roman Dumitrescu

Data exchange requirements are becoming increasingly stringent – not only in terms of technology and regulations but also in terms of data security. Transfer processes like OFTP, which have proven their worth in Europe, are still relatively unknown in Asia. Magna in Graz therefore uses the web-based platform OpenDXM GlobalX from PROSTEP for global data exchange.

PROSTEP plans to present the new version 10 of its PLM integration solution OpenPDM at the end of November – another step towards making OpenPDM available as a SaaS offering. PROSTEP subsidiary BHC is expanding the range of product and application lifecycle management (PLM/ALM) services it offers. In the future, we not only want to provide greater support to companies from the automotive industry but also to SMEs that manufacture smart, mechatronic products when it comes to consolidating their software and product development processes. The key to this is expanding our partnerships with leading ALM vendors.
Even though OpenDXM GlobalX 9.6 is not yet available on the market, PROSTEP's product developers are already working flat out on the new version 10 of our data exchange platform. In the next major release, we will be modernizing the internal service interfaces and taking other important steps in the direction of bringing together PROSTEP's solutions to create shared product platform.
