PROSTEP moves to new Corporate Headquarters in Darmstadt

Instead of creating mere workspaces, we have designed a modern working environment that is tailored to meet the needs of our employees. Open communication zones promote interaction with colleagues and create space for collaboration and creativity. A large cafeteria extends an invitation to linger, as does the (soon to be completed) spacious rooftop terrace, which not only provides for fresh air but also for fresh ideas.

We looked for and found a building which is technically state-of-the-art. Instead of huge air-conditioning systems, a combination of concrete core activation and heat pumps ensures comfortable room temperatures in both summer and winter, with a relatively low level of energy consumption. All in all, this also leads to a reduction in our building footprint of at least 20%. The interior design embodies the circular economy concept. The majority of the new office furniture is made from recycled plastic and 90 percent is manufactured in Europe rather than Asia to avoid long transportation routes. The floor coverings are also made from recycled materials.

As our fleet of vehicles already includes many electric and hybrid vehicles – and their number is growing – we have made sure that the new building has parking spaces with EV charging stations. There is also a designated area for bicycles and e-bikes, as the use of this environmentally friendly means of transport is also increasing. We actively encourage their use with our job bike offering. Another big plus in terms of sustainability is the fact that our new headquarters offers easy access to local public transport. And it takes fewer than ten minutes to walk to us from the main train station.

It was not easy for many of us to say goodbye to Dolivostrasse. It was here that PROSTEP developed over the course of the last two decades into what we are today: A leading manufacturer of software solutions for end-to-end digitalization and the digital thread, a recognized provider of vendor-neutral PLM consulting services and an experienced developer of customized software solutions. This unique combination of skills is our strength as a company. And I firmly believe that our new business premises will enable our employees to develop their potential to an even larger extent – with greater pleasure, inspiration and scope for development.
