PROSTEP sponsors major PLM events of Dassault, PTC and Siemens in the US

By Joseph Lopez

Maintaining vendor-neutrality often demands the simultaneous handling of multiple tasks. PROSTEP, a leading specialist for PLM integration, migration and collaboration, recently sponsored three major PLM events in the US, using their Mars Rover Demonstrator to showcase complex PLM topics. The events included Dassault Systèmes COExperience 2023 in Miami, PTC LiveWorx in Boston and Siemens Realize Live 2023 in Las Vegas.

As Platinum sponsors of COExperience 2023, PROSTEP, Inc. showcased innovative solutions for digital transformation, realized several presentations, engaged in workshops and benefited from the networking opportunities, thus strengthening their partnerships within the Dassault Systèmes Community. At the opening reception, our North American subsidiary provided PROSTEP branded cigars, which were very well received (though not directly smoked).

In his first presentation, Brian Schouten, Director of Technical Presales, provided a use case from Pratt and Whitney which drew much attention from the public. The global aerospace manufacturer used PROSTEP’s standard OpenPDM connectors to realize a federated integration approach, integrating data from Teamcenter and other sources into 3DExperience. Schouten’s second presentation showcased how these 3DExperience integrations can be leveraged to build a Digital Twin which connects design, engineering, manufacturing and operations. PROSTEP’s solutions can also be utilized to export data from multiple sources and merge them into a PDF-based Technical Data Package, as Jim Markwalder, US Federal Sales and Industry Manager, demonstrated in his presentation.

PTC LiveWorx was another major PLM event which PROSTEP, Inc. attended together with representatives from parent company PROSTEP AG and PROSTEP’s German subsidiary BHC, which specializes on ALM and PLM consultancy for mechatronics and software-driven products. BHC had an interesting breakout session in the ALM track on the integration of hardware and software development in the digital product delivery process, highlighting PTC’s recently acquired Codebeamer software. Julian Weyer and David Whiteney showed how End-to-End Systems Engineering can reduce the overall complexity of combined hardware and software development and discussed steps to align PLM and ALM tool landscape.

In one of the Ignite Talx, Daniel Wiegand provided an overview on how PROSTEP’s integration, migration and collaboration tools can be perfectly combined with PTC’s Creo and Windchill product families to enable communication of engineering data with the extended enterprise. The foundation for engineering collaboration is PROSTEP’s OpenDXM GlobalX solution. Wiegand showed how Windchill users can implement roundtrip communication with external partners that is fully automated, traceable and reliable.

PROSTEP, Inc. is also a PREMIER PLUS sponsor at Siemens Realize Live 2023, which is currently taking place in Las Vegas. These multiple partnerships reflect our unwavering commitment to fostering strong relationships within the industry and signal our dedication to facilitating the future of our expertise PLM integration, migration, and collaboration. Our capability to address complex PLM issues is highlighted by our Mars Rover Demonstrator, a testbed for Model-based Systems Engineering and cross-domain collaboration, which was shown at various US events.
