PROSTEP TECHDAY update - what's new

By Joachim Christ

At PROSTEP TECHDAY a year ago, we presented the development plans for our PLM integration platform OpenPDM, our data exchange platform OpenDXM GlobalX and our new OpenCLM solution for creating digital threads and ensuring traceability. Now we want to show you what progress the three product families have made and where the development path is leading.

We delivered two OpenPDM releases this year as promised and will continue to do so. With the new releases, we have not only improved the core services provided by the process and mapping engine but also delivered numerous new connectors, e. g. to the ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) systems JIRA, Polarion and GIT, as well as to Primavera and IFS ERP. The new 3DEXPERIENCE public cloud connector provides the basis for hybrid cloud integrations between cloud-only PLM systems and on-premises SAP installations.

OpenPDM also makes the provision of data via OSLC possible – even if a system manufacturer does not support this standard. In the video, we show you how this works using the example of communication between the PLM system Teamcenter from Siemens Digital Industries Software and the ALM software codebeamer from Intland. The new codebeamer connector provides a small foretaste of OpenPDM release 9.4, for which we are also developing a connector to the cloud PLM system PTC Arena.

In another video, we show you what new features the data exchange platform OpenDXM GlobalX now has to offer. Having migrated all the administration functions to the new web interface, improved process monitoring, integrated two-factor authentication and created a new integration to the Active Workspaces client for Teamcenter this past year, we are planning to improve cloud implementation and collaboration processes in the coming year. We also want to further enhance the performance level for data exchange.

At the last PROSTEP TECHDAY, our new OpenCLM solution was still more a vision than reality. In the meantime, we have launched it on the market. It is a lightweight, web-based tool that allows you to link information from different data sources across domain boundaries, thus creating digital threads. OpenCLM provides greater transparency in heterogeneous system landscapes, makes it easier to manage complex development projects and ensures traceability as required by law. In this video, you can find out more about possible applications for the new solution.
