PROSTEP TECHDAY on 8 November 2018 at the DARZ data center in Darmstadt

Although PROSTEP TECHDAY 2018 has had to be postponed due to overlaps with other events, it has certainly not been suspended! Instead of being held on 21 June, it is now being held on 8 November 2018. We have found an extremely interesting venue for the event, namely the DARZ data center in Darmstadt, where the Hesse Central Bank used to store its gold bars in what is now a state-of-the-art, green, high-security IT data center.

Every year, PROSTEP TECHDAY offers users and interested parties an opportunity to obtain information about new products and the latest news from PROSTEP free of charge. We will be presenting the release planning for our solutions OpenDXM, OpenPDM and 3D PDF to those attending and explaining the roadmap for their further development. In addition, high-profile customers will report on their practical experience with using our solutions for data exchange, system integration/migration and collaboration.

This year we have postponed the date at the request of numerous participants and PROSTEP TECHDAY will not be held until 8 November 2018. We have also chosen a new venue for the new date, and it will be of particular interest with view to the much-discussed topic regarding data security in the cloud. The DARZ data center in Darmstadt is located in the building that used to house the Hesse Central Bank's vaults and is one of the most modern and  secure (not to mention bombproof) data centers in Germany: Thanks to the use of green energy and special air-conditioning technology, DARZ is also extremely energy efficient.

A guided tour will offer those attending PROSTEP TECHDAY an exclusive opportunity to learn about the history of the building, which has won a number of architectural awards, and get an idea of its impressive security infrastructure. It can be compared to a data center in the Swiss mountains.

Another highlight of this year's agenda will be the keynote by Dr. Franz Koller, founder and managing director of User Interface Design GmbH (UID), who will explain the importance of ergonomics and design when it comes to modern B2B user interfaces. UID is helping PROSTEP redesign the user interface for its web-based data exchange platform OpenDXM GlobalX.

The agenda is not however set in stone. PROSTEP TECHDAY Interactive offers participants the chance to talk to us and actively help shape the list of topics addressed. As always, the event will allow plenty of time and space for sharing experiences with other users.
