OpenPDM 8.4 offers new features and connectors

PROSTEP presents Version 8.4 of the world's leading PLM integration platform OpenPDM. In addition to over 60 new features and enhancements, the new version is characterized by the fact that it now also provides connectors to the IoT platform ThingWorx from PTC and a direct link between the 3D EXPERIENCE platform from Dassault Systèmes and the data exchange solution OpenDXM GlobalX.

The key features of the new OpenPDM version include support for multiple/parallel export strategies, an optimized import worker, a comprehensive reliability and load balancing concept, enhanced login, and improved activity monitoring for system administrators. OpenPDM 8.4 now supports Tomcat 8, Java 7 and 8, OracleDatenbank 12 and Windows 12.

The new ThingWorx integration offers non-PTC-system users the option of making their data available for developing smart products, services and applications via the IOT platform. PROSTEP is one of the first PLM vendors to develop a corresponding PLM integration.

Within the framework of developing OpenPDM further, PROSTEP has made the necessary adaptations and taken the measures needed to ensure the software quality of the existing connectors. Version 8.4 therefore now also supports the PLM system versions ENOVIA 3DX R2016x, EKM Datalink R18, Teamcenter 11 and Windchill 11, as well as a number of other systems. OpenPDM 8.4 is currently being tested in selected customer projects and is slated for official release at the end of July.
