Schaeffler Group relies increasingly on OpenDXM GlobalX

At Schaeffler, too, data exchange is facing a variety of challenges. An increasing number of partners who are unable to comply with standards in the European automotive industry have to be integrated. This calls for a simple yet universal means of integrating partners in the infrastructure without any need for investments. And then there is the issue of increasingly stringent security and compliance requirements that must be met in order to ensure that engineering design data can be transferred securely via the Internet.

The managed file transfer solution OpenDXM GlobalX – referred to below as "GlobalX" - offers the functions needed to meet these requirements. Together with Schaeffler, the current data exchange processes, previously stored in OpenDXM, were analyzed and evaluated with a view to migration to GlobalX. Apart from a few minor process adaptations, which impose no restrictions whatsoever on users, it was possible to make all the data exchange processes previously mapped with OpenDXM available in GlobalX. With GlobalX, users at Schaeffler user now have an even easier-to-use, browser-based interface and a convenient Windows integration available to them.

Following migration from OpenDXM to GlobalX, which offers powerful encryption functions and automation options, Schaeffler now has at its disposal a modern data exchange platform that allows globally distributed sites and cooperation partners to be integrated easily but nevertheless securely.
