OpenCLM 4.0 now offers customized Workflows and improved Baselining

By Johannes Lützenberger

The new release 4.0 of the digital thread solution OpenCLM offers a number of new features that further improve transparency, user-friendliness and automation. These include the option of customizing workflows and automatically generating baselines. The new features enable companies to make their processes more efficient and optimize quality assurance.

The product developers at PROSTEP have optimized navigation in OpenCLM 4.0 to make the software even more user friendly. Users can now switch even more easily between different views of a project – for example from the overview in the navigator to the detailed entity page. OpenCLM also remembers individual visualization settings, which allows a personalized way of working and improves efficiency.

The new CI version comparison functions enable direct comparison of two versions of the same object. This makes it easy to track changes to status, metadata and other properties, which increases transparency within the development process.

A key feature of OpenCLM 4.0 is the ability to customize workflows. Thanks to a low-code environment, workflows can easily be created and configured. In addition, configurable quality gates ensure that processes are executed in line with company policy.

Automated processes, including iterations, ensure that all the necessary information is provided consistently at the right time throughout the entire workflow. Workflows, including iterations, can be recorded in detail, which makes it easier to document project progress and helps improve traceability and quality control.

The new release also includes an enhanced baseline management feature. Rules can be configured individually to create baselines according to specific requirements (status, process step, etc.). This flexibility makes it possible to manage development processes more precisely and ensures greater consistency.

Thanks to the new PROSTEP EDC connector, OpenCLM can be seamlessly integrated in Catena-X or other data spaces in order to import data and create and provide digital product passports (DPP). The data for the DPP is orchestrated in the form of an Asset Administration Shell, which facilitates the standardized exchange of product information along the entire value chain.

OpenCLM 4.0 provides companies with a powerful update that further improves transparency, user-friendliness and automation. The new features make it possible to design workflows more efficiently, improve documentation and facilitate integration in Catena-X data spaces. This means that OpenCLM provides companies with optimal support for their digital transformation.
